I have the HD/DVR cable box from time warner. Some of the buttons on my remote arent working. the channel up and down buttin work, and so do the number buttons, but i cant scroll through the channels like usual, and i cant press pause and what-not. what could be wrong?

your remote has failed. there is a touchpad beneath the buttons and that touchpad is bad. return the remote. if the unit is leased then there will probably not be a charge

Make sure that you have it on the correct setting. You might have it set on T.V. but you need it set on Cable in order to scroll through the channels. My cable remote also work my surround sound system, my t.v., my stereo and my DVD player. We make that same mistake all the time.
