It happens a lot in the southern and southwestern United States.
Most Americans, even Christians, find it embarrassing and pathetic that people are so gullible. But whatever, freedom of religion means freedom for ALL religions. They can do what they want as long as their beliefs don't infect our laws.

I am a Christian and I think they are freaks. You always see them touching a person as to push them on the shoulder or something, and then they fall backwards (always) and some church guy catches them. Its so ridiculous that its pathetic.
Then they claim that its the power of God present doing it - wiping out there demon possessions.
Well, every time you read of any person who has any contact with the supernatural, God, Angels, etc. they always fall forward onto their faces as dead. They never fall backwards and then shake and run around the room screaming praise the lord!
Being in the presence of any supernatural being is an awesome and overwhelming experience. They are a bunch of fakes who are giving real Christianity a very, very bad name.

Yeah, there are some churches like that. I know there's a small grouping of ubernutty southern baptists who's entire church is all about driving around the country protesting funerals of soilders. See...this is how it works for them. The soilders died in Iraq...because we 'support' gay marriage...and they protest because....um....because.........I have no idea where the connection is, but it's what they do.

i am not sure sure about it. we at my church believe in the filling of the Holy Ghost. that is when Jesus comes into your body and lives. and you let yourself go and let him controll you. you can speak in tongues, aisle run, we have had some who were older with bad backs and what not do summersaults. it is just a moving of God. most the time our church is not as huge as that on TV however i have been to conferances and seen some stuff happen. at first it was kinda scary and what not. then i learned more about it and wow it is amazing now. and yes God can move upon people like that. it is summiting your body and flesh to God and letting him control you. that is just like healings. i would say as long as they are done in Jesus name then more power. if they dont give Jesus the credit then something is wrong. and a lot of those people especially when there in person it is exciting. we have a guy named matt maddox who is an awesome preacher. i believe he is in the Florida state area. he gets so excited he jumps up on the pulpit. is it wrong no. just excited and not ashamed about God. as we all should be. we preach big on worshiping God on lifting your hands as you sing and what not.
