Im 20 Years Old.. I met this guy and we've been together for 6 Months Now.
He's 23 years old.
We've had our arguments and misunderstandings (just like every couple does)...
But, overall, he's an amazing guy.
He's not just said but shown that he loves, cares, and treasures me.
The Only Problem is that this is his first "real job".
And he takes this job really seriously. It's actually a good thing, because it show's that he's responsible...
But his work really stresses him out to the point that it messes up our relationship.
Sometimes He comes home really moody.
Some nights he really doesnt wanna talk on the phone because he's too tired,
or because he has his family issues (his mom and dad divorced)...
And Ive shown him alot of support on my side, but...i realized that..
He mixes His work Into his personal life too much.
I really Dont Know what to do?....
I only see him once or twice a week.
He really doesnt have a schedule.
I dont know what to do :(

Let him read what you just wrote and then suggest the two of you go to counseling not for your relationship but for him to get his stress out and you can go on how to cope with it also.

Sister, listen real close. If you want a serious relationship with anybody, your gonna have to deal with this kind of stuff because serious people have serious jobs, and those stress them out. SOunds like you have a good guy, here. I'm telling you 'cause I want you to have good things.

If yu are really serious about this guy, you need to cope with this. If you just want to have fun right now and aren't into a long term, serious relationshihp, you can find someone younger with less responsabilities to deal with and pass the time with him.

But know, when you do decide to settle down, the job is always going to be stressing your man out, and if you work, the same thing is going to happen. As adults, we mostly enjoy each others company on weekends, and gripe about the job and how tired we are on weekdays.

All the best.

You may be expecting too much from the relationship? This could all be about you? I'm just guessing. If you are that serious at 20 yrs. old, that's fine...............just be prepared for the "life" scenarios that go along with it.............to be honest, this is one of them. If you still want to date, go to the mall, party, be care-free, that's fine..........but, maybe you need to re-think the whole thing. My suggestion, live first, have fun. You are young and have the rest of life to be in "life" situations.

it sounds like he needs some space to figure things out, so don't pressure him to be on top of the list of priorities right now. You should be someone he can vent to, relax with, have some fun with. Not someone he has to work hard at pleasing....he's just going to get more frustrated if you keep on with your neediness. And maybe, just maybe, you two aren't a good match?

You need to realize he is who he is. If he is aware that you want/need more from him and he does not want or can't give it to you the only thing you need to decide is if you can accept that. If you can't then you need to end the relationship. It's really that simple. People do not change. People sometimes modify their behavior but in the end behavior modification often results in resentment. Good Luck!
