And spent our manpower and money on other ways to protect us from terrorism?

No, pull out and leave a good division in Kuwait and just watch. It won't be pretty, but in the end the only people who come out on top will be us and the Kurds. Focus the power we are using in Afastigian, half of it. And focus on rebuilding our military. We have lost to much on this stupidity. John McCain wants to win in Iraq. Win what? I don't care about their democracy idea's. They are not our's, in fact I think Al Malik hung Saddam so fast so he would not out live him. My father fought for McCain's grandfather in the south Pacific in WWII. His grandfather recommended committing in force to Guadalcanal, to exhaust the Japanese resources. That worked, short of reinstating the draft, what McCain is recommending now will exhaust ours.

Maybe, maybe not. No one knows for sure but staying with amount of troops the US has there now will only make things much worse. So Bush can either role the dice and leave Iraq and hope for the best or he can keep US troops in Iraq which is a guarantee that things will get worse. The thing is though when is the Mideast ever not a chaotic mess? So if the US leaves and it becomes one again so what? It's always that way & the US & the world deal with it.

Well Iraq would be over run by insurgents, and Iraq would never turn into a powerful ally in the Middle East. Turning Iraq into a stable country with a strong military will help our country out greatly.

No. It could only get better. Our occupation in Iraq is based on lies anyway. What did we gain? Saddam Hussein is dead, so what, Bush won his little vendetta, and the price we paid is 3000+ troops and thousands of Iraqi's dead, loss of world respect, high gas prices, religious intolerance, civil war in Iraq and dissention among Americans. Yeah, I don't think it can get much worse.
EDIT: Al Franken...Have you forgotten that our illustrious president is close friends with the Saudi royal family and the Bin Laden family? Did you forget that he was willing to hand our Ports over to a Dubai based company? What better way to let terrorists into our country?

Not if we built huge walls around each of the factions' areas. Even a small enclosure of a few square km's to start with. Those who don't want inside, give'm all the guns and ammo necessary to eliminate the problem. Arm all factions thoroughly. Sad to say, they've never wanted anything but "victory" which, I believe means eliminating the other side. So, to us it means all who are violent are gone. By then those inside the walls have a bustling economy and are getting somewhere with their society.

Depends on your personal investment in the oil industry--America will be just fine.

Since when did the occupation of Iraq have anything to do with terrorism other than our creating terrorists through illegal aggression?

Yes.

Iran is a much stronger political and militray force in the Middle East, and they have already demonstrated their willingness to try to take Iraq.

That would make a block of power that would include Iran, Iraq, Syria and Lebanon, possibly backed by Russia and/or China and supplied by North Korea.

And when the terrorists are trained in the tens of thousands instead of the hundres, where do you think they would all try to go?

(Can we have some jeopardy music please?)

Once the terrorists believe they have us on the run, no amount of manpower or money will be able to stop them from sneaking chemical or nuclear suitcases into our country.

Yes, it would be chao's for a while, but soon the strong would survive. What G. W. is worried about is that he will loose his oil money if we pull out.
