I had my first at 31 and my last at 37. I will say that it is a little more difficult keeping up with my kids at my age. Many of my youngest's friends have grandparents my age! However, later in life you tend to be more grounded as a parent, more financially stable and are more likely to be selfless. Make sure to get an amnio so that you can be prepared in case there is a problem (God forbid.) Cases of down syndrome are higher as you get older but problems can happen anytime at any age so don't be frightened off, just be prepared.
Good luck to you!

If you're healthy and think you're ready to have children, I don't see anything wrong with it. A woman was on the news recently who gave birth at the age of 67.
There are lots of advantages to having a baby later in life, anyway. You're probably a lot more financially secure now than you were in your twenties and have learned more patience.
My sister had her last child at 36 and my mother had me at 40. Neither of them had any complications.
If you're really concerned, talk to your doctor about it, but I'm sure you'll be told that if you're emotionally ready to have a baby, there's no reason not to.

I don't think that's too old, but you may find conceiving a little more difficult than someone who is 10 years younger. Then again, everyone is different, and it may be very easy for you to conceive.
The worst that you'll have to endure is more tests at the doctor's office after you conceive, since you are at an increased risk for having a baby with Down Syndrome. Other than that, go for it. Women do it every day, and many of them are older than you are now.

Not now days.. I know people who have them now that are 40. But me personally my youngest daughter was born when i was almost 31 (3 mths) and it is soooo much more relaxed for me. My oldest was born when i was almost 21(5 mths) And it is a huge difference. I think i am a better person now with lifes experiences and time i am at a point in my life that i can truly enjoy her being a baby and being there for her. So if you thinkyou can do finacially and your dr says pyshcially you can i say go for it. And ENJOY :)

No have them as much as you want.
Remember that you need to add 19 years to the equation
and think how you will handle a teenager - driver - college student at X + 19.
After 40 - 42 think about health issues.
Good luck

Noo, I am 36, have teenagers, and all of my other friends are just now having their children. I think that it is ironic that my kids are their babysitters.
Other than you may have a problem relating to them as children, you could not possibly have as many problems as an 18 year old.

No I think the oldest you should have a child is 45. That way you will only be 65 when the kid is 20. Any older than that and you wouldn't get to see all of your child's accomplishments.

NO.... and I can tell you from experience that you will have so much more fun having kids now that your are a grown up yourself.
I had a child at 20 and a child at 33.... I can tell you that it is a good thing you waited. I was still a good mom to my older child, but just didn't enjoy it as much as I do now.
Good luck to you!!

i had my first (nine months ago) at 34 and am glad it did it now rather than 10 years ago or whatever. i have done my travelling, partying, etc etc and am now happy to be at home and give up things for my baby. not saying that younger mothers are better or worse but for me personally, I am glad it didn't happen till now. i do wanna have more and i don't have the luxury of time to choose when etc. but as the song goes, que sera sera!
good luck, it is the best thing i have ever done!
