I had LASIK about four years ago. I haven't had any problems and I would highly recommend it. I still have 20/20 vision and was one of the youngest people to have the procedure at the time I had it done (I was 19).
Everything heals back fine within a few months, but as with any delicate surgery of course you need to be careful for the first few months afterward not to tear anything. Eyedrops go a long way to combat any problems you might have!

while you're a pilot or a well being care expert, it is extremely undesirable, as you're able to lose your interest. In our close by well being center equipment (15 hospitals) surgeons will no longer be allowed to accomplish surgical operation in the event that they get lasik. whether the lasik worked, the dry eye would reason short-term blindness and doing gentle surgical operation merely would not paintings with that. whilst many human beings have had helpful lasik eye surgical operation, there's a somewhat vast form of folk who've had problems. the main uncomplicated is dry eye observed via haloes (each and every thing is haloed). I surely have additionally heard quite a few fellow scrapbookers, who had lasik quite a few years in the past, ***** nevertheless approximately easy sensitivity. in case you will discover, i would not take a danger. Glasses are plenty safer, observed via contacts.

overall, LASIK is a great procedure snd definitely not evil. Sure there are problems associated with any surgery, but the vast majority of people that have undergone LASIK are very happy. I warn you though, if you are considering LASIK, make sure you choose an experienced surgeon. You don't want to shop around for the cheapest guy (or gal) in town.

My mom had Lasik surgery about 3 years ago. I remember when I was younger, she would always put on contact lenses and huge glasses, and she said she had bad vision since she was a teenager, and didn't get contact lenses since she was 18. She got Lasik surgery in our home country, Iran, 3 years ago, and ever since, she has 20/20 vision and doesn't put on contact lenses or glasses again.
Just make sure you listen to what your doctor says and you take your eye drops correctly. Not doing so will result in bad vision again or a potential eye injury.

I only know a few people who have had it done and none of them have had problems, but with everything else, it is not 100% guaranteed and there are a few exceptions where it doesn't work. You have to weigh your possibilities.
