Is something wrong with having friends with benifits? Meaning is something wrong with not wanting a bf/gf and just wanting to be friends with the person but at the same time have relations with them?

I know what friends with benefits means, you don't have to spell it out and Yes....as long as the other person knows too.

ok, girl.. first, im a lil confused on some or most of ur definitions..
second, so maybe i'll lay em out myself..
for simplicity, let's say that benefits simply mean the good things that come out of ur friendship..
now i'm gonna split this in two:
1. relationship = sex
if this is the case, i think it's wrong, girl.. i guess sex outta be done in the context of a marriage.. it was created for that.. i mean, for me, sex shouldn't even be done between bf n gf.. well, i must be against the tide right now, but that's what i think anyway.. so i guess the benefit that comes after this sex-based friendship - as fun as it may feel - wouldn't be so much of a benefit at all.. sex outside marriage have always brought problems.. n i dun want u to have to go thru that when u can actually avoid it.. but of course, it's up to u.. i can only wish u the best..
2. relationship = friendship n company
for this, i really think it's ok... it's great, actually..man, i wish i could have one of these... but u see, time might build trust n love between the two of u.. as much as u wanna jus be friends, in most cases, u tend to start wanting a commitment from the other person... there're really not much boundaries between bf/gf n 'jus friends', u know...(some commitments might be done unspoken..).however, there're usually tendencies to expect more n more out of the other person..
as for benefits... i guess, friendships bring a lotta benefits.. but also a lotta hurts.. cuz love hurts.. n friendship involves love... if u make a friendship ONLY for the benefits, then maybe u might wanna call em acquaintances..cuz they ain't real friendships after all, right?...
well, i truly hope u find a true answer to ur question, girl..
i truly hope that u find a real friend out there who really loves u for who u are... n that u'd become a true friend to someone too..

It all depends on the angle from which you are viewing the question. Morally, yes there is something wrong with friends w/benefits. Socially, it appears to be acceptable on certain levels. Physically, it's a 2 way street with lots of side roads. Meaning if you have several friends w/benefits and they have several additional friends w/benefits then you are risking your physical health. Do you know who your friends w/benefits friends (w/benefits) are? Mentally, what happens when you truly fall for one of your friends w/benefits and they don't want to change the type of relationship you have? What you're really doing is sharing sexual partners (friends w/benefits is just another name for it).

So right or wrong depends on where and how you are looking at it.

I believe you are selling yourself short by engaging in frivolous sex. Whether we want to believe it or not, sex is meant to be a spiritual, sensual, and deeply intimate experience. Something like that should not be engaged in lightly,

Look at it this way, the thing that makes items valuable are their exclusivity and the painstaking way in which they are collected. It's the difference between cubic zorconia and diamonds. The question is which are you? Be a diamond...make a person win your heart and commit to you before giving up the goods.

One more thing, I believe that settling for the "now" dulls our senses when it comes for detecting the real thing. Chips may keep may keep your stomach from growling but, steak really satisfies. Wait on the steak.

Good luck.

I don't see there is nothing wrong with friends with benefits. Some people would rather it that way because no one wants to commit, and at the same time not want the other party.

Nope, just be carefull of catching feelings, because friends with benefits doesn't often end in both of you dating. Me and my Pakistani friend Usman were just friends, then we started fooling around, and we acted like we were dating, but we are friends now for the most part. There's nothing wrong with getting laid by a friend, as long as they aren't dating someone else and you aren't either. If they do date someone, leave it a lone because that's home wrecking. Both of you are single, then go for it. Better to have sex with someone you know then don't know.

I would never want a friend with benefits.
I would rather know that if I'm doing something with a man, that it is because I truly loved and cared about him. Otherwise, it would just not feel right.

No. Not if both people fully understand and are on the same page about "no strings" - do practice safe sex though, you wouldn't want to risk the love of your life over a casual fling.

I believe there is no right or wrong when it comes to love. These relations, however, are not likely to last.

ya your afraid of commitement its a problem, and remember you can hide your past but it never really goes away

what happens when you DO meet someone you love and have to tell them you've hooked up with tons of guys whom were just friends.......

And what if you lose a GOOD guy because of that,

plus any guy who wants to just be friends with benefits ISN"T a good guy, if he wanted you, he would want YOU not what u have in ur pants,, guys would do a fence if they could... doesn't make it right
