As an atheist I would never take a job that including executing anybody.
It goes against my personal code of ethics.

It's a pity they had to execute Saddam so hurriedly; I was told that the US tried to cancel it to a later date but the Iraq authorities said that they were going according to their laws.
I don't think Christianity has any laws concerning Capital Punishment...it may be a personal thing; I think the Pope was opposed to the hanging.
I trust that God would have some mercy on Saddam...but by Jove!!! Saddam have killed so many innocent folks!

Neither nor- and I would refuse to have anything to do with something like that. the guy never did anything to me, and under the assumption that that culture is absolutely, positively, 100% COMPLETELY different from anything Americans have EVER known or will EVER be able to understand (we obviously don't even understand our own culture), I would venture to say that the west had no right to dip into that mess over there. Saddam gassed, tortured, and killed a couple of hundred of "his own people", but the ruthless killing of thousands and thousands of innocent people over there in the course of this war (and the previous one) is simply collateral damage and a fact of war? Great morals, and quite the double standard if you ask me!

Neither. I'd help him disguise himself and run away somewhere. I would find him a safe house and check up on him frequently. I would probably leave him in hiding with his daughter. Then I'd tell everyone at the exectution that he ran away to cover up the whole thing. Sadly, it's too late for me to do that. :(

I wouldn't have him killed. I don't know if I'd talk to him, but I wouldn't have him killed or released. I'd keep him in prison. I would like to have a better understanding of him and get him to change his ways for a better life, all though that can't happen now.

I would do it myself. I don't believe in making others do something I would not do myself. Christian teaching supports capital punishment. "Thou shall not kill" has absolutely nothing to do with capital punishment or war.
