If you're a diabetic, you may be having kidney failure--but that
is usually a swelling or puffiness all over your body.
You may be taking some high blood pressure pills. Without
getting technical, there are some meds that cause blood and
fluid to collect in the legs and feet...that's why doctors usually
prescribe a diuretic along with the HBP meds. Go to your
pharmacy, or Barnes & Noble and buy a book called
"The Pill Book" It gives very reliable info about the drugs,
what its prescribed for/the side effects/overdosage cautions,
etc. Get the 12th edition (or later) I'm not sure I have the
latest one.
Also there is a book called "Worlst Pills/Best Pills" which
can be ordered thru www.worstpills.org. It gives valuable
info on all drugs/reactions/allergies/cautions.etc. They can
also be reached thru Public Citizen.org. (I believe).
Don't let this condition slide. Something is very wrong and
its up to you to find out what. If you're over 60, get help fast.

Only your doctor can tell you what is causing it after he runs some medical tests. If you are not having this treated by the doc then you need to see him ASAP. Fluid buildup can be a sign of a serious problem so do not let this go without a proper diagnosis and treatment. If could be circulatory or kidney related or other problems.

I'm not sure how old you are but, my step dad just went through this and he didn't have chf either, they said it had something to do with his heart pumping too hard to remove fluid from his lungs and it was making his feet swell. they looked like footballs. anyway they upped his water pill and he wears tedhose now to keep the swelling down. You should get checked out by a good doctor. good luck.
