Since it's generaly accepted by most 'realistic' thinkers that the Earth was formed 3 BILLION years ago - that the dinosours died out around 65 MILLION years ago - that the human race began about 10,000 YEARS ago and that every writing and idea within the bible originates between TWO THOUSAND years ago and the present day - isn't it reasonable to assume that the Bible has little to do with TRUE history, but is more likely to be the result of early thinkers begining to ask questions about the universe around them, in the same way that the world was believed to be flat?.... In the same way that the Sun was believed to orbit the Earth? .... the same way that the ancient Greeks believed that thunder bolts were a sign of anger from the Gods?.... Arn't all these things simply attempts to explain the mysteries of the time?.... Isn't it sad that even though some questions remain unanswered to the present day .... that many people feel the need to explain the unexplainable with pure fantacy?

Apart from a few of you ... I dispare at the brainless ... un-inteligent rambling of people who WILL NOT open your minds to other possibilities .... I exclude nothing! .... But I refuse to preach that any possibilty is the absolute TRUTH .... because I do not claim to have the answers! .... Nor should you!

Infinity to 1 against for monotheism.
Polytheism has a higher probability (The more deities you have on the right hand side the higher the probability) but you've still got infinity on the other other side of the equation as per the infinate universes. Of course anything divided by infinity is as close to zero as make no difference so any deities you come across are merely figments of an overwoked imagination. This also brings up the problem of fractional deities which is a concept that probably does not have any bearing on this universe but may be relavent in parallel universes.

Anything that exists has a beginning. And anything that has a beginning has an end. Whatever you see around you has had a beginning. And that beginning is caused by someone who is great enough to cause a beginning and the end,ie, an Almighty. And this almighty is God. The life is what sustains every living being. Who gave the life? Surely someone who can. But neither you nor I have the power to do so. So who has the power? A creator, strong and powerful enough to make things just by word. That creator is God.
It's logical thinking.
Bible is right and Science is never wrong, understand. But perhaps some things should be taken in a figurative meaning.
Believe in what Science proves and have faith in what Bible teaches.
And may God give you understanding.

Some people believe that once a year reindeer's fly pulling a sleigh carrying a fat man in a red suit, most of them are children ! Its clear some people refuse to believe the obvious. Now I cant prove that deer's don't fly now and then, but with no evidence for it so far, I think it safe to assume it don't happen ! The same is true of this God thing.
By the way is the earth not flat ?

Please note that the humans first appeared on earth about 180,000 years ago,not 10,000 as you wrote.
No point using reason and logic in discussions with religious people. They are infected with the virus and are not amenable to reason.
As to your question, since we can never prove a negative, I would put the chance agaist God at 10^100 to 1

What is incredible is that you believe the earth to be 3 Billion years old, and the dinosaurs died out 56 million years ago, and that the human race began 10,000 years ago, when these theories were developed by the same people who said the earth was flat and that the sun orbited the earth.

In general, people need to beleive that we are here for a reason and can't accept the fact that we live and we die.The bible even calls followers sheep that need to be shepherded.
What really gets on my wick is the amount of war carried out under the name of god, whether he exists or not, the whole religion thing is responsible for more death than anything else.
So, in short, I agree with you.

When you look at a watch or a computer or something that is very intricate, do you think that things all just came together by chance? No, since you are a reasonable and intelligent person, you know that they were put together and designed by someone. And yet, no matter how intricate we can create things, nothing is as intricate as human DNA and even the human body. We are still doing research to figure out how it all works. As a reasonable person and fairly intelligent person, I can only believe that there must be something or someone who created humans and the world.

Who was it said "The brainless you ill always have with you" ?
yes, the fantasy-mongers are still with us, and where once, religion was a great unifier, moraliser and producer of great art, now it holds back the human race from saving itself through logical action. Sad, innit?

The bible is, by all logical and common sense, mostly nonsense; but that really implies little about whether "God" exists or not. The bible is but one of dozens & dozens & dozens of examples of "inspired scripture" that purport to explain the nature & existence of a godhead.
