I have had the flu for about 3 days, seems to be going away, but the last 2 days whenever i go to take a bite of food, there is this strange strong acidic/metallic smell/taste. it makes it very hard to eat. it seems to be with food with a lot of flavor. i have never encountered something like this before, just when i inhale deeply, smells like chemicals. does anyone know what this may be? should i call a doctor?

It's somewhat normal to have a metallic taste/smell while u have a cold or flu. Just keep an eye on it to make sure it goes away in a timely manor. This website has more info: http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/003050.htm

let your doctor know. they always say to let them know if you experience this.

are you having nosebleeds? blood has a metallic taste (iron & stuff), even in trace amounts.
