Hi,

We just bought a new Samsung LCD 82cm and a Samsung DVD/HDD Recorder.
The cable tv (FOXTEL) goes from a Scart plug to a AV plug for the DVD/HDD Recorder (Yellow,Red,White).
But i tried 2 different leads and the pictures shows up very poor. It is very fuzzy around text and people (eg. different colours) and the picture qaulity is just poor. But when i watch a DVD or view the menus it is crystal clear through the HDMI Cable from the DVD/HDD Recorder to the TV. So it defintly has to be something to do with the SCART>AV Lead. Will buying a high qaulity lead fix this? I was thinking maybe it was getting interferance through the cable?? Otherwise something is wrong with the PAY TV Box.

Cheers,
Scott

The problem is that you are using composite. Composite is naturally fuzzy, especially when viewing it on an LCD. You need to find a way to get component (red, gree, blue) from your CableTV to the TV. Video quality ranks as follows (low to high):

Composite
S-Video
Component
VGA
BNC
DVI
HDMI
