We are only witnesses. God is not on trial. We are. Satan is your accuser. Please believe that.

You see God grants us wisdom when we accept Jesus(the Holy Spirit) into to our lives. Without this it is very difficult to see the light and believe in God. They need us to prove it because they have no wisdom to prove it.

Basically what we are asking you to do is to show some kind of repeatable proof that your god exists, beyond a shadow of a doubt. But, what you do is deny that you can prove this entity exists. So, if you can't prove anything, why should we believe?

And by proof, I mean verifiable, repeatable scientific proof, such as the sun shines brightly in the sky so therefore we can see each other because there is light to see by. Get it?

It is interesting that the Bible never attempts to prove the existence of God. It takes for granted that His existence is self-evident. It's as if I were to try to prove my own existence.
I think, though, because of the twisted logic going around whereby some people think it is intelligent to deny the existence of God, and others are influenced by that, it can be useful to point out to people why the atheist logic doesn't hold water. We call that "Christian apologetics" which has nothing to do with apologizing, but with giving arguments in defense of a certain truth.

Well, honestly, I don't expect you to prove anything to me. I believe in God, just not the christian version.

I believe it would be best if christians actually studied up on Satan and the origins of that myth. Satan in the Jewish belief is actually in God's employ.. he is not a fallen angel.
The verse in Isaiah that got mistranslated to Lucifer (which is btw, a latin name and not a Hebrew OR Greek name.. ) is Halel in Hebrew and translates to Day star.. the reference is to a Babylonian king who tormented the Jewish people in that time.

It would be so much better if christians understood the history of their church and their bible.. which would require study of history, judaism and the Hebrew and Greek languages. Something most of them are too lazy to do. It's easier to just listen to what comes across the pulpit, and read a few verses here and there than it is to actually KNOW.

I'm sorry.. I just can't believe what you're asking of me.

Because it is not possible to "prove" non-existence. It is the responsibiltiy of the proponent of a proposition to make the proof. Though, I don't suppose any sort of rational arguement is going to sway your faith.

Let me ask you a question: Why do non-believers threaten you so much that you feel the need to confront us?

Give it rest, Dude. Live and let live.

Because if you believe everything that has the same evidence as your god does, you would be left with so much ridiculous stuff. You would have thousands of religions, Charlie Manson would be a prophet, and Santa would be real.

If you want to put forth a theory, it is your job to back it up. It isn't our theory, so we aren't doing your work for you.

Seriously, for people who want us to believe YOUR beliefs, then it is on you to prove it's existence.

I mean, come on, if I told you that flying purple puppy aliens were real and that you NEED to believe in it because I know it's real and you will be be punished if you don't accept that it's real and believe it... Yeah it would then be on me to prove to you that it exists and that I'm not just some controlling nutjob.

Same difference.

Because you make statements like "Satan is your accuser. Please believe that."

If you want me to believe something, prove it. Your belief that something is true does not make it true.

On the existence of God, the burden of proof is on the one making the claim.

Because if it was our responsibility to disprove him, we'd also have to take time disproving flying spaghetti monsters, invisible pink unicorns, celestial teapots and fairies at the bottom of the garden, not to mention Thor, Odin, Amon Ra and all the other thousands of gods which have beem proposed.

It doesn't matter to me what you believe, or what you don't. I have mine, you have yours. As it should be. Trouble starts if you try to push your belief on me. I mean that in a general sense. I'm not referring to you and I personally. I believe in God. I also believe that all religion, western, and eastern, is all 100% bogus. But that's just me. I'm not asking anyone else to think that way.
