First of all, I probably only issue a citation 50% of the time. If you are respectful and take responsibility for your actions, then you have a really good chance of receiving a warning. Futhermore, if you have everything that you are required to have, such as a driver's license, insurance and current registration, this will increase your chances.
You might do all of these things and still get a ticket, it happens. For example, I ALWAYS write a ticket to a parent that doesn't put their small child in a car seat. That child cannot protect themselves and can't put themselves in their carseat, they rely on their mother or father to do so. I feel it is my responsibility to protect that child. You would be suprised how many parents allow their children to stand on the back seat or put their infants is a basket full of laundry.....

Very easy. I've been a policeman for more than twenty years and can honestly say I've let more people go than I've written. The best tip is to be nice and respectful. Don't make crap up because we have heard it all before. If someone is sincere, knows they are wrong and admits to the error you will find more often than not you will get a break. But don't confuse the majority of officers with every officer. Just like everything else, there is always the cop who doesn't want to hear it. These guys are in the VAST minority. Also, for all you violators out there, remember this; we have radios and hear everything. If we've given you a break in the past and your name comes over that radio again, we let our buddies know. You may not get the break the second time.

I have never been told to write a ticket. For me it was always a case by case basis. If I knew through the computer that the person I had pulled over had recently been given a break for the same infraction they would probably get a ticket from me. A written warning for some things is ok. For me if your child was not buckled in properly, you would get a ticket. Be honest and accept your lumps if caught. Most of us respect honesty, have been in a hurry and been preoccupied with things other than the speedometer.

Once you are pulled over, you are nailed, unless you happen to be an attractive female, and the officer is male. In some of these cases, the gal may get off with a warning, after he gets her name and address from her driver's license.

Your attitude plays a big part, as long as it is a relatively minor violation. If you are a wise guy, the nice officer will look for several more violations. If you are relatively polite, and don't back talk, you may just get a warning. A lot depends on you.

I have a friend that got out of a speeding ticket by saying he had to use the bathroom so bad that he was driving fast, so the cop actually helped him get the rest of the way home. LOL!

Just be honest with the officer. I know I've been lucky, but have always gotten nothing more that a written warning. Once, just a verbal warning.

When I was a young lad, I got out of several tickets. I did get a couple, though. My last one was in 1988.

I would suggest that you take full responsibilty for your actions and let the chips fall where they may, sometimes that just floors the officer and he will let you off with a warning. Be sincere!

well if your wrong your wrong. the biggest mistake you can make is to argue. admit your wrong. its all in the attitude you give to the officer. when i give out tickets the attidudes got everything i could give them. first its a speeding tick, then no insurance, then an inspectin sticker or exired regstration, bald tires, broken tail lamps, no seatbelts,
