Since it is not a game species per say and it is hard to say "where" they are.

A friend of a friend killed a 300 pound hog in the Ozark National Forest. I'd give more precise directions but he'd be upset with a bunch of would be "city folk, hog hunters" showing up in camp looking for pigs.

Here is what the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission says...
FERAL HOGS
Feral, free-roaming hogs degrade wildlife habitat, compete directly with wildlife for food and can pose a disease threat to humans and domestic livestock.
Hogs may be taken during open hunting seasons if they are roaming freely on public lands and the weapon used is legal for the season open at the time. Feral hogs may be taken on private lands at any time, as long as the hunter has legal access and the landowner’s permission. Information about feral hogs on Wildlife Management Areas is on Page 71.
A hog that has escaped from its pen is not considered to be feral for five days. If the owner gives notice to adjacent landowners, the hog is not considered to be feral for ten more days. Hogs may not be released on public land. With the landowner’s consent, hogs may be released on private land.

Feral hogs seem to be pretty ubiquitous, and landowners often consider them enough of a pest to be happy to have people thin them out. Arkansas, Mississippi and Alabama seem not to have made as big a business out of them as folks in the Tellico Plains area of east Tennessee, so it isn't as easy to shop from a magazine for a guided hunt. On the other hand, there are hunts with or without dogs in lowland areas and hills, something to suit just about anybody, if you can find the right connections.

Pretty much all over in rural areas, at least in the southern part of the state. They are a problem, and you can probably find places to hunt them without a lot of trouble.

I've seen pictures of crazy people who hunt them with dogs and knives, but I think I'd stick to a gun, myself.

I'm told the meat from acorn fed feral hogs is pretty good, so try for fall in woods with lots of oak trees.

They are all over. I am in SW Arkansas and go to Pond Creek Bottoms all the time. Get at least one or two a year.
