I'm going back to college and I need a tetanus shot because I haven't had one in awhile, so I made an appointment with my family doctor this week. Problem is, I don't have health insurance... so would any of you know how much the shot would be?

Maybe you should check with the health services clinic or office at your college. They may offer it and other health services for free or a reduced cost.

Individual Doctors probably charge slightly different prices. Simply call and ask how much it will cost. The other people are right though, since you are a student then you can most likely get a free tetanus shot at a local public health office or your campus clinic.

Not sure of the cost but the cheapest place to get one will probably be your county health department. Call them and they'll tell you how much they are. I'm confident it'll be much less there than from a physician's office. Another plus in getting one there is that they'll keep your medical records on file for near eternity. If your doctor moves or closes, your records go with him.

you should be able to get a free one at your college. If you don't then go to the health clinic in your town. If you are a college student that doesn't make very much money, then the shot should be free to a very little expense on your part.

Here in OK it is about $35 but some places will charge for an office visit too and that is about $80. If you need one and you don't have any money, go to a not for profit hospital they will give you one. If you need one, you have to find a way to get it!
