The wii sucks! Is 2007, and they call the wii a next-gen console? not even close. Look at the PS3 or the 360, playing the games are like watching a Tv, the graphyics are so real!! And the playstation 3 with the blue-ray format disc which is the future DVD format and it can support 1080p. But look at the Wii, can't play dvd and the game grahpics sucks, is only slightly better than the gamecube. The new controllor dosen't work well for some games, like Call of duty 3.( check it out on Ign.com). The games for wii are so damn kiddy. Happy Feet, Cars , Spongebob , whatever..........! I don't know why nintendo think they gona make people buy it just because it's cheap and it's called the wii. The ps3 and the xbox 360 is a bit expensive but at least you will get your money worth.

Simplex Spes and lex the controllor sure is pretty actractive but it doesn't work for some games and video games isn't suppose to be relaxing? instead of whiping arms around, i play rap soccer and other sports ,i am tired after all that.i wana go home and enjoy but i don't want to swing arms when i am tired i want to enjoy!

It depends on how you define "next generation console". For the hard-core gamers, a "next generation console" would take what they like today to the next level: better graphics, faster processor. However, the "next generation console" can also mean the console that the next generation gamer will want to play, whether they're kids that are younger than today's power gamers or they're people who didn't consider themselves gamers before.
I love video games, but I'm not a traditional hard-core gamer by any means. I personally don't see any point in getting myself a PS3 or a 360. Humans and mecha are, frankly, quite ugly, so I don't like photorealism in my games at all, and I don't like 3D rendering. If I wanted to merely twiddle my fingers while something realistic-looking goes across the screen, I'd just watch TV. I love the more active controllers: the dance pad, the guitar, the drum, the microphone, the camera. For me, they enhance game play far beyond some extra pixels. I would like the game industry far better if people would just stop spending so much time on graphics (which just don't do anything for me at all) and concentrate more on game play. I tend to like games made by fresh, newbie upstart companies rather than the Grand Old ones that have been around forever.
Clearly, the Wii isn't for you, just like the PS3 isn't for me. However, the potential user base is vast and varied, and there's plenty of room for both systems to have tons of players each.

The Wii is a next-gen game console simply because it is revolutionizing the game industry. It is the "next generation" way of playing games.
How? Well, sure it doesn't have Cell processors or advanced shaders, but the way it is played is interactive! You get to SWING the sword instead of button-mash. This is why it's next gen, because button-mashing is so last year.
If you want proof, then look at all the people who are buying the Wii. Not just the numbers, but also the kind of people as well. These are people who were never interested in playing games before, now they are. Why? because they get to swing the golf club instead of the mini joystick.
And sure, the games are a bit kiddy, but it's a new console. Give it time. Look at the PS3, does it have any awesome games out yet?

the system was made so that everyone no matter how big or how small someone is, they can play. Nintendo has always been that way. they want their products to be easy and affordable
i think the wii is great
everyone's gaming style is different
the wii was made to point towards kid and young teens. everyone else would like it because of the motion sensered controllers
its fine that you dont like it but that is probably because the system wasn't made to attract people your age
or people with your same taste in games

Say all your crap to yourself, its your opinion.
Nintendo is aiming only at kids, not adults. I've never seen Nintendo make a Grand Theft Auto where there are porn scenes. Isn't that the best thing to find in a game! A porn scene!
The games aern't made to be gory either. Theres no cutting of the esophagus and liver like you would expect in a XBox game.
Nintendo doesn't use Blu-Ray discs either because not everyone has them, so they use SD cards.
Nintendo isn't forcing people into buying Wiis because they are cheap, its because people want them! If they don't like it, then they can return it to the store! Duh!
And you've never even touched one!!!
Nintendo isn't trying to make a super-halleluah item, its trying to make something people will use, Internet, news, weather, and gaming.
So if you don't like the Wii, than play with your goddamn ****, because thats what you like to play. And don't complain to other gamers that aern't like you.
