Satanists (as in members of the church of satan or followers of Anton Szandor LaVey) are atheists.

LaVey choose the word Satan to describe his atheistic philosophy primarily because it would annoy Christians, and he wanted to show he was as opposed to Christianity as possible.

The majority of satanists don't believe in Satan (as in fallen-angel, man with horns, denizen of Hell), or God, and so would be Atheists.

I'm not a Satanist, I'm an atheist, and personally I find Satanists purile and silly. In the same kind of way as I find people who dress up with a towel on their head to mock Islam purile and silly.

1. You cannot see from the answers how ALL atheists feel about christians.

2. I would imagine that I would have to be an atheist to respond, but Satanism is still a religion.

I don't have a problem with satanists, they don't bother me, seem generally pretty friendly, and their philosophies mostly seem fairly decent (although not quite what I would follow, at least they don't want to stone unbelievers and convert the infidels etc. :p)

Well, the couple that I talked to were really atheists. They just liked to use it to make fun of religion. They were hedonists as well, and I really didn't think that was a good way to go through life.

I can't say if they were typical or not. They were LeVay fans.

Anyone who believes in the existence of any deity, or the supernatural, is delusional. Atheists are not Satanists, that would require belief in the existence of a deity. There is no proof of Satan's existence; therefore, I do not believe that Satan exists. How could I worship Satan? Those who accuse atheists of Satanism are just being ignorant.

The beliefs of the Satanist do not disturb atheists.

So they leave them alone.

From the little I know of them, they are just another ideological variation on the same supernatural theme.
