He was crucified but so were many other criminals. I mean going into the IRS for instance and turning over all the tables would get one arrested and maybe put in jail. Jesus went and turned over all the moneychangers tables. He did things that a criminal would do.

And he was given the death penalty the same as any other criminal. He suffered the same as a lot of other people. He didn't do anything special. So why do people bring up his dying on the cross as something so special?

Jesus was a criminal according to Jewish Law. He claimed he was God incarnate. Although Rome's laws didn't include anything about this, Pontius Pilate had to keep the peace. Because the majority of the people were so closed minded about another person's ideas, he was killed.

This also is occuring today. Most Christians attack other religions they find to be strange or different. They attack Muslims because of conflicts they started in the 15th century. They attack Jews by blaming them for the death of Jesus. They attack Neopagans for their practices. They also attack each other. It is really sad to see Christians hate the people who killed Jesus, but act in a similar fashion.

You know what............I was going to put forth some effort, but really you are so far out there...................

I give up!

I thought as I read that you would tone down a bit or something, but you really do believe that, don't you?

THE MONEYCHANGERS WERE THE ONES THAT WERE BREAKING THE MOSAIC LAW!

Jesus was taking care of things that the religious leaders of his day were suppose to see to...........fat chance.

And if you didn't check your own Bible you need to read the part where Pilate tells the crowds that he found no fault with Jesus.
He was going to set him free, but the crowds were egged on by the religious leaders.

Continuing on, Jesus and his disciples soon reach Jerusalem. He goes to the temple, which he had inspected the previous afternoon. Today, however, he takes action, just as he did three years earlier when he came to the Passover in 30 C.E. Jesus throws out those selling and buying in the temple and overturns the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves. He does not even allow anyone to carry a utensil through the temple.

Condemning those who are changing money and selling animals in the temple, he says: “Is it not written, ‘My house will be called a house of prayer for all the nations’? But you have made it a cave of robbers.” They are robbers because they demand exorbitant prices from those who have little alternative but to buy from them the animals needed for sacrifice. So Jesus views these business dealings as a form of extortion or robbery.

When the chief priests, scribes, and principal ones of the people hear what Jesus has done, they again seek a way to have him killed. They thereby prove that they are irreformable. Yet, they do not know how to destroy Jesus, since all the people keep hanging on to him to hear him.

I guess it depends on who you ask.
To the English, the men who dumped the tea into Boston Harbor were criminals...here in America, we think they are heros.
The Sanhedrin definitely were not too happy about Jesus turning over the money tables...
The Romans, however, as represented by Pontius Pilate, saw no crime in Him.
Think about Ruby Ridge. Some people think the family there were heroes...others think they deserved what they got. Alot depends upon your point of view.
I wonder...if someone did have enough nerve to go into the IRS and call them theives to their faces, and put an end to the way they rob the American people by spending our tax dollars on all sorts of ridiculous luxuries for themselves while the poor can barely afford to eat...would history call that person a hero? Or a criminal?
It seems that, to this very day, there are Jewish people who still see Jesus as a criminal. They see Him as a blasphemer, and a sorcerer.
As I say, it depends upon your point of view. As for me, I see Jesus as a HERO!!

for the record, he wasn't executed because of the destruction of talbe in the temple. and that was actually justified because a church isn't a place for people to make money (at least it shouldn't be)
he was executed for violating religious law and for treason aganist Rome.

number one for believers- he is belived to have risen from the dead because he actually was god's son.

number two for free-minded thinkers- he was a martyr he stood up for his beliefs and died for them. he encouraged peace and social change. that's noble thing

(ps- I'm not saying believers are freeminded thinkers- I'm saying free mined thinkers support martyrs and don't label them as criminals or trouble-makers)

no jesus was not a criminal. Jesus spoke truth, the jewish people couldn't handle it. and so Jesus was crucified. he came to fulfill prophecy, not to change it.this all began when adam and eve disobeyed God.Jesus died on that cross for our sins. you see we are all born with sin. Jesus died on the cross to pay for our sins with his own blood. you say he didn't do anything special, but he did he died for us.

BECAUSE he didn't die on the cross for bad crime. He went with his religion even though they didn't like it. He died on the cross for everybodys sins so they could all go to heaven without having to go through Judgement. He was a miracle worker who cured the blind, death, people who couldn't walk and, those possesed by demons. He died on that cross because they didn't like wat he was doing. Maybe you should read the bible and get ur story straight!
