a lighter green, black, light brown, white. that is what I use, i have a dark green sofa and I have a pillow of each color on it and they look great!

You could go with a patterned pillow. We have dark green sofa and love seat, the pillows on them have some of the same dark green, then it is leaf patterened with tans, rust, browns, golds

Gold, yellow, brown, black, maroon, dark blue or ever off white. All would look very nice but it depends what kind of look you are going for. If you are trying to make a room look smaller or cozier then go with the darker colors if the room is small then go with the off white to open it up.
