it would not be thought much of
our church is in the stages of going through the steps to become a "welcoming church" that is done by training, reading, studies, talks, awareness and ultimately inclusion and overt signs to display outside to say so
oddly, we don't see many hetero sexuals doing this, maybe we can learn something

kissing during the ritual of peace is fine as long as it isn't a lip lock or with tongue. Holding hands in service is ok too. Who would have an objection to going up for communion?? Of course go up. I just have one question, why are you asking? I wouldn't have any more objection to a gay couple doing those things than a straight couple. Isn't propriety the word for either??

What if? What if? If gay people are going to a Church I am sure that they would conduct themselves in the same manner as heterosexual people do. Most people don' t start kissing is church and most people do not hold hands while receiving communion. If you ever have received communion you would understand that the lines go up single file and each individual kneels on their own. Get over the gay thing. You talk like they don't have common sense.

Like, a peck or full on made out because I think if I saw a hetero couple make out in church I'd be a little taken back. And how should I know who's with who going up to communion. Everyone just sort of lines up and goes.

What would occur if a straight couple began to attend your church & kissed each other during the ritual of peace?
Why should it matter if they're gay, except to the most petty and bigoted gods and worshippers?

You are such a bigot!!! Those things would never happen in any church! only small minded people would think they would try to offend the congregation like that. EDIT by the way, the last church I attended had an openly gay couple as minister and assistant minister. And nobody objected.

LOL, sorry for laughing, but the question is funny.
My two best male friends are married together, I live in Holland. I was their best man at their church wedding.
Sorry, but it's sad that your question is even remotely touching a taboo in the USA.
I never visit a church, but I can't imagine it being a big problem here. Even the Christian Political party here has members in parliament that are openly gay. I truly don't see the taboo.

Ritual of peace? There's no such thing in my church-the Orthodox Church. If they held hands during communion nobody would probably do anything. If they kissed-the church asks gays to not express their sexuality openly, so they would probably be asked to leave, but holding hands? fine.

i would offer my hand and say" peace be with you". it is not my place to judge or condemn. if they are good people, what difference does it make if they're gay or not?EDIT i don't think many of the answerer's here understood the q. he didn't say they were making out! in our church it is very common and touching for people to wish their family members peace with a small kiss. i believe this is what the asker is referring to.

Depends what kind of church, i imagine baptists would call you a sinnner, and tell you to leave, universal unitarians would not care. It all depends on the people their, in a big city where people are tolerant i doubt anyone would notice or say anything. In a small town where there are hicks anything could happen.
