I do love him and want to be with him, but I am just not ready for it. I tried to explain this to him before but he always seems to get his feelings hurt and gets the impression that I don't love him.

I understand what it is like to be in your situation.....If he doesn't get it by now he may never get it and his feelings are going to keep getting hurt until he gets it. I don't think there is much more you can say to him. Just don't let him make you feel guilty and don't let him push you into something you don't want to do because you wont be happy.

If you've already told him no and why, the conversation should be over. He could be trying to guilt you into going along with it after all. If he's already playing the "you don't love me"-card, try turning the tables on him: He can't love you if he's not able to respect your decision.

Try reaching a compromise by setting off a certain amount of time before the subject is brought up again.

Just continue to be honest with him. If you're not ready for that step, then he'll just have to understand. Best of luck to you.
