If you are almost 10, then you would be almost 70 in dog years. Each human year is equal to 7 dog years. NOW this is according to the old scale. NEW scales develped by vets have stated that, a dogs first year is equal to 15 human years, their 2nd year is equal to 10 human years, and each year after that is equal to 3 human years. Using THAT scale, if you are almost 10, then you would be almost 49.

All depends on the size of the dog for starters. Small dogs live longer than large dogs.
