On cruises on Royal Caribbean and Carnival, they have created a rule that no online resellers or websites or travel agencies can sell a cruise less than the corporate website price, so you won't see cruises cheaper than the corporate website pricing.
BUT what companies like Expedia, Orbitz, Travelocity, and other resellers will do is give you on board credits or free upgrades to better room on better decks.
Last cruise, I received $50 credit and a bottle of wine and a free deck upgrade. Which turns out to be about $200 in savings.
So I would look for deals like that. If you can travel at the last minute, there are few websites that offer last minute cruise at lower price but selections of rooms will be limited and they only do this because the bulk of rooms that the company bought hasn't been sold so they are selling it at a discount to recoop some money.
But don't expect to get a $2000 cruise at $1000, cruising is so popular now that people are booking years in advance and almost all cruises are booked. (I booked my August 07 cruise in November 06 because the rooms I wanted were hard to find)
Good luck.

I have used cheapertravel.com to book two cruises. The first time I got a great rate and was even upgraded two cabins. We had balcony on HAL and paid less than many people who merely had ocenview. The next time we went on NCL and went to the Mexican Riveria for 8 days, three people in the cabin for just over $2,000.
