A couple of the health freaks I work with say it is not because it is loaded with cheese and bread. But don't we need a certain amount of bread and dairy in our diet? Obviously it's not an everyday thing but can pizza still be considered healthy?

it is not considered "healthy" because there's a lot of fat in it and pizza is not the only thing you eat in one day. But if it's for a special occasion you can always have some and I have an idea for you, what I do is I take pita bread and put tomato sauce and cheese on it.

Too much of anything is bad for you and pizza is an easy way of over eating. Usually if you look at the calorie and fat count of a slice, it really takes a slice or two to fulfill a meal so don't eat more than 2 per meal. I know at night at college i ate like a half a pizza everytime we ordered so freshman 15 turned to 20.

Pizza is very healthy. Of course pizza is renowned for having almost anything on it you can imagine. If it has healthy things on it it's healthy.

It depends on the pizza. A couple of slices of cheese pizza won't hurt you and can be beneficial to ur health. Watch out for the sauge and meants though. Also try to dodge getting extra cheese, extra meat, or stuffed crust pizza. This adds an unheathy amount of fat, oils, and calories. That may not matter to you though if you have an awesome metabolism. Just watch how you order that pizza.

I wouldn't consider american pizza healthy by any standard. But real pizza can be a pretty balanced meal.

If you eat it in moderation it is healthy, but one can overeat almost anything making it unhealthy. 1-2 pieces would be fine but watch the extra fat with the high fat meat toppings and extra cheese.
