All have given good advice--except for Primerica. they are a multi-level market firm. The only thing you will learn there is, "only buy 10 yr term & invest the rest. Then see if you can get 5 people per week to join us and you can make millions per month."

I don't know about CT, but if you want to find out if the insurance business is for you, you might look for a job as a Customer Service Rep at an agency. You will discover quickly if this is for you. The agency will probably pay for your licensing.
If sales is your thing, with some experience under your belt, you may become a producer and go out and sell the insurance the CSR will take care of.
Insurance companies and insurance agencies are very different worlds. By and large, companies support agencies with products, technical help and service. Agencies sell the insurance.
For the most part, Insurance is not very exciting. Most folks last less than 5 years. It is very complex and unless you are a good sales type, not really lucrative.

ct is the insurance capitol of the nation. we have every major insurer there is. in order to sell insurance you have to be licensed. go to Thompson Prometric's website. you will need to take a course (mine was 2 days) and then the test. my test was for accidental/life/health. the test is wicked hard. maybe you should start off for a year in a lower paying job like customer service to get your feet wet then try for a sales position.

The simple answer is you can order a book and study along with a class. This is the process in order to get your license. Good luck.

Go to a local agency, and ask for a job. You won't get much pay until you get licensed, but you can learn A LOT.

Try Primerica Financial Services! Insurance is part of their services. They will also recommend training offices, if you are not licensed they will help in that area.
