No and hopefully there never will be. There are some jobs that women just should not do. We are as intelligent and have good endurance but we are not cut out physically or emotionally for this type of thing. Some things should not change in the name of equal rights in my personal opinion.

No. Women are not allowed in Combat Arms specialties. US. Army Special Forces (Green Berets) are a Combat Force and thus excludes women from becoming one.

RE:
Have there ever been female Green Berets?
In the movie "The Green Berets," the theme "The Ballad of the Green Berets" refers to "100 MEN we'll test today, but only three wear the Green Beret." That was in the sixties. Have there been female Green Berets since?

No, all United States Special Forces are currently closed to females, though one woman completed and graduated from the Special Forces Officer Course in 1980, thus becoming the only Special Forces-qualified female.

There are women who have completed the training, but they are not allowed to serve in combat in roles in the military at this time. The ones who completed the training did so in sort of a GI Jane sort of experiment.
Women cannot serve in combat roles for the mere reason that in that environment, there is not the ability to allow for dual standards. Currently, women and men have different standards for height, weight, body fat %, and physical fitness tests/ requirements. In combat roles, everyone would have to have the same set of standards, or the mission and safety of all involved would be placed in jeopardy.
Also, there is great speculation as to whether Americans are ready to see there daughters coming home in body bags yet. While that is a concern, the one listed above is the main reason.
