If they raise the service standards of bus drivers and the comfort and improve on the technologies or even a raise in salary in conjunction with the raise on transport fare would sounds fair enough.
However, if transport fares are raise for the sake of raising, there will definitely be disagreement all around.

We are back to the old British Rail days. Put up the fares on the very services that commuters want and need to use.

Bus fares went up as well, but i very rearely take the bus as i cycle everywhere.
