Heart worms, all kinds of different worms, a bad heart, a heart attack, seizures, and often times, death are the most common effects of a table scrap diet.
My dog gets table scraps just about every nite, and when I clean out my fridge, which is about once every 3 weeks, he has a nice big healthy meal of bad food humans can't eat, but dogs can. But I only give him about half a dish full of food. The rest of the food I throw out.
Table scraps are good for a dog, sometimes. If their diet is nothing but, they can get serious ill. But feeding the mtable scraps after you eat, and just a little bit is just fine. As long as it isn't food that has things that are real spicy(seasoned and hot), or foods that aren't full of grease or cholesterol fat.
And chocolate isn't healthy for a dog either. A bite here and there is ok, but not a whole hershey bar every few days. Any type of bird bones, chicken, turkey, duck, or whatever else, are dangerous to the dog. They splinter easy and can cut your dogs wind pipe, causing serious problems. Steak bones, and roast bones are healthy for them. They can still splinter, but it's alot harder for them to, and it can keep your dogs teeth healthy, and sometimes keeps the bad breath at bay.

Depends on what the table scraps are and the quantities involved, but not necessarily. Since time immemorial dogs were fed on the family leftovers and what they could scavenge; proper dog food is a relatively recent phenomenon and I don't think it's a coincidence that by and large dogs these days are much less healthy than those even just 30 years ago. Cr@p like Iams is arguably a much worse bet than a balanced human diet...

Dogs actually last longer if you don't give them table scraps, but give them dog food instead. They also get very fat when they eat table scraps. We let my dog stay at my grandfather's house for a week while we were on vacation, and all he got was table scraps there and when we came back he was OBVIOUSLY fatter, and had gained three to four pounds, which is a lot for a little shih ztu.

What exactly are these "table scraps" ? Dogs should be eating dog food, to make sure they get all their required nutrients. Sure, I let my dog indulge on the occasional bit of toast, or bit of chicken sometimes, but a dog's main source of food should be dog food. Table scraps are not going to be digested properly, also dogs can gain weight very easily and rapid, I do not recommend you feed your dog table scraps.

Probably. It may not get throw up sick but table scraps aren't going to contain the proper nutrition a dog needs to stay healthy. It's best to feed dog food.

I don't feed my dogs table scraps because dogs tummies handle food differently than ours and don't digest some things the same. There can be too much of a good thing...I know it's not good to give dogs a lot of deli meat as it can be bad for the liver. I know it's hard to say no when they are begging, but I think it's best to think of what is best for your dog. Good luck! ;)

People food was designed for people. Dog food was designed with a dog's nutritional requirements in mind. Case in point:
My ex mother-in-law's dog died from obesity-related health problems from eating too much people food. When that dog died, we adopted her other dog, an overweight german shepherd because we didn't want to see her get fed to death as well.
After one year of eating normal dog food (sometimes dry food, sometimes canned Ol Roy brand with the gravy), the german shepherd was acting much more lively and she was down to a much healthier weight. You could tell she had less hip problems, she was much more playful, and a lot happier. She was thirteen years old and acting like a spring chicken again.
Your dog may think he likes McDonalds and spaghetti, but it is your job to take care of him. He doesn't understand the concept of eating healthy, he just knows what tastes good. I'm sure your vet would agree. Healthy and safe people food scraps once in a while will most likely be fine, but your dog needs a balanced diet just like anyone else and the best place to get that is in dog food.

years ago that was the way my family use to feed our dog and he lived a long time. but l think dog food would give more of the things it need to be healthier. alittle table food is ok. and l was told that a egg [cook] was good for their coats. well cooked meats never raw.my chihuahua is 17 years old and she was fed this way. and she loves veggie soup. but she does not get all the seasoning. and never over feed it on table food. some table food may cause gas so watch out for that. and just make sure it is fed on dog food the most

Yep, proper dog food has the correct nutrients and goodness that dogs need. Giving them scraps all the time mean that they don't get a good balance. Scraps are good for treats but not full time. Buy your doggie some Pal or whatever and get him healthy

A dog needs to get proper nutrition from dog food...did you ever see a stray that looked completely healthy? How would you fare on only table scraps.
