Is a recovering (sober 8 years) alcoholic considered an American with a Disability and protected by the Americans with Disibilities Act?

nope. you can avoid drinking, even if it's difficult. you can't avoid your missing leg. get drunk and get your leg ran over. then you'll be good.

Yes, if only you're in a treatment program and trying to sober up.
