There are creams on the market that help loosen hair. You can unravel them lock by lock, but this will take a lot of time. I've done this, I used a porcupine quill, but I've also heard of sharp, thin nails. This has a lot to do with hair texture. My hair is curly, not kinky.
Maybe you need to get a nice old fashioned HAIR CUT!

Sorry, but if you've had you're dreadlocks for a long time, you have to cut. But maybe you'll have enough luck to loosen them up.

You have to cut them out, i have very long hair and used to twist it with wax and when it dried it looked like i had dread but removerble dread.
