I used a sticker chart. I taped it to the back of the bathroom door. Every time she to the bathroom she would get a sticker. When she wash her hands she would get a sticker. Sometimes she would pretend to go to the bathroom and say she did a good job but I told her that she did but she actually has to go. She was so excited about her sticker picture that its still hanging in her room. It took me 2 - 3 days and she was trained. She had no late night oopies. She had a couple oopies during the day but it happened on her way to the bathroom. Good luck!!

Girls love to go to the bathroom in pairs, when you have to go take your child by the hand and ask her to go potty with you. You sit on the big girl potty, she sits on the little girl potty. Its the most natural thing in the world. Lots of praise, never reprimand...Freud wasn't wrong about everything. If she is very resistant (some kids cry like the devil was chasing them) take a look at Dr. Phils website, he had some great potty training ideas...please don't try to train her in a week or you will need Dr. Phils services for more than potty training. Be calm, be gentle, we all eventually get it and just think...no more dipers!

IF she is ready, one weekend would do the job. Given your circumstances, I would go later rather than earlier, since you need her to "get it" quickly. If you try in one weekend, and it doesn't "take", don't be discouraged, just drop it for a couple months and try again. During that weekend I suggest you let her go bare-bottomed around the house or yard, have the potty chair always nearby, and give her lots to drink. Also doesn't hurt to have some candy on hand for rewards. :)

2 Days before my daughters 2nd birthday I took the diaper off her put a long tee shirt on her and introduced her to her Elmo Potty. The first time she started to pee I picked her up and ran her to her potty. After that she pretty much got the picture. I left her diaper off until her birthday. Except for night night and naps of course. For her birthday I got her a package of underware and explained that she wears these instead of a diaper under her pants and then for the next few days we practiced with undies and a tee shirt. Altogether it took about 6 days until she was completely pottytrained. But she definately knew what she was doing by day 2! Good luck!
