Mediums are people who pass messages from the spirit world to people who have lost loved ones,i am a catholic and we are taught that there is life after death, and mediums are able to communicate with them and give messages to people who need some sort of comfort knowing that thier loved ones can send a message through the medium to them.I once asked a priest if it was against our religion to go to the spiritulist church and he said no as it is not a religion its a belief and if we believe in life after death then we must believe that they can communicate with them through these people. They dont tell you anything about the future as that is left to so called Fortune tellers,i lost my dad and my brother very close together and going to them really comforted me in the messages that i recieved.

I haven't studied much on this subject, but I do find it rather interesting as I sometimes seem to "know" things that have/will happen. Yes, I'm a Christian. I'm not an expert on this field, but I will say that as a Christian, judge not lest ye shall be judged, so I judge ye not. Not everyone is putting you down. How do I explain my ability? Am I clairvoyant? What I do is break it down to my senses, hearing, feeling, tasting, touching, and then I, as a Christian, with my faith, call it the gift of discernment. When I think or dream and find answers to questions I have, which I haven't always been able to, but I now can, does this mean spirits are answering me or does this mean God is answering me? When you communicate or receive messages from "spirits" or "others" who are you communicating with? Are they "spirits" or "God"? How do you know? I believe there are spirits, don't get me wrong. I believe in good and evil. I only hope that I am able to "discern" the difference. Also, just as there have been many frauds and charlatans in posing as preachers/ministers, etc., you must remember, there have also been many frauds and charlatans posing as mediums as well. They are out there asking people for money and promising that they will allow desparate people to speak with their "dearly departed." People will always be skeptics - it's human nature - whether Christian or not. Now, on the lighter side, because I want to show you I do have a sense of humor, (similar to the acronym A.I. - Artificial Intelligence) why can't we call mediumship I.I. - Invisible Intelligence. This is by no means meant to be disrespectful by the comparison but in good "spirits."
Have a Happy New Year!!!!

My understanding is that medium is a person who is a conduit to the spiritual realm. Christians generally believe there are two sources of spiritual information, one being God and the other Satan. Christians also perform what a medium does but it's called prophesy and is considered a gift. The rejection of mediums is because the information is from a demon who will sprinkle some truth to built trust then give a false piece of information at a critical time. A demons objective is to hurt God by hurting people. Mediums are generally nice people who have a prophetic gift which Satan abuses since the person is not aware they were called to be a prophetic guide to the church. There are many ex mediums in church who are considered prophetic people. My view is the gift is like an antenna and how you use it determines the label people give you.

True Mediums, are gifted with the ability's to tune in and communicate with ghost, and spirits.
Although, some are gifted a bit differently in their own unique way. I would say I have this gift since I have had so many experiences, although, The way I tune in is through prayer, I usually don't ask for them to come, either they are passing me by or and some have communicated, some are angels and or spirits from heaven that hear our concern prayers, some are send by God to help out, or protect.
Like I said there is some different type mediums, I personally have never came across any bad spirits, I sense God's spirit very strongly once, with some communication. The two strongest ways of communicating for me is feeling in my head either what it is they are thinking and or communicating that way, another is they voice out loud, and there is other ways of communicating, even dreams.
I see nothing wrong with mediums, or any evilness, there is a wide range of types of mediums, some may like the evil spirits, or don't know what they are getting into by doing it wrongly.
At times it's Strong for me, but I am starting to enjoy it, and looking forward in meeting the nice angel type spirits.
enjoy:) xx

A medium is someone who has bought into their own ego specialness and thinks that the inner ego voice is actually some paranormal voice related to some contrived spiritual plane. Some mediums buy into it so much (because of their unconscious need for specialness and identity) that they become deluded and are convinced that they have these special abilities. They will use every ego device possible to defend this thought system and will further convince themselves that they have this 'gift'. The truth is that they don't have a gift but, instead, have tapped into the understanding of common human dynamics and non-verbal communications which yield 'answers'. The worst of mediums pretend to talk to the dead (getting a fuzzy line of communication when it can be proven true or false but then all of a sudden getting this direct and open communication from the 'dead' when it can't be proven true or false). I've seen this common psychological dynamic of people wanting spiritual specialness over and over.

a medium is a person that is a liaison. a runner sort of gets a message from here and tells the other person over there what the message was or is.
the spiritual medium that i think your asking about is a person who believes that they are get messages from another realm.
that could be death . or it could be sort of physic from a living person .
this person the meduim at least one who really belives in this not a scam artist is a person that in order for them to be of use
a person must be willing to take a leap of faith and believe.
i dont discont all persons who have claimed to have this ability.
christians including me may tell you to be aware that some of the people who do this sort of work are just out to rip you off.
some of the so called ministers out in this world may be doing very much the same thing.
both are not helping themselfs or us.
another thing some christians might tell you and everyone including themselfs is that with god anything is possible.
with satan a lot of things are made possible too he can use false mediums to lead people off the path and he can use false teachers claming to be teaching the will of god and really in a very intellegent way again leading people off the path.
every person must know that none of us should put all our faith in anyone living here and now . instead be cautioned that lots of people and even demons can seem really nice and good but be very bad.
sounds like childs play but sadly compared to god and satan we are about as knowing as a little child so we have to be carefull .

I'm not a Christian, as you know, but my mom is.
She associates anything to do with spirits being evil and does not accept mediums. Perhaps, because it is simply something she cannot explain and will not further investigate the unknown. I wouldn't go as far as to say, she thinks the actual medium is evil, but more so, they are doing evil deeds by communicating with the dead, which she thinks should be left along. Keep in mind, this is coming from a woman who threw my NICE set of tarot cards out years ago, because she said they were bringing evil into the house.
I'm sure majority of Christians do not know what mediums truly are, but they like to join the crowd and bash them for things they have heard along the way. But, why should mediums care, right? It is their job to convert the skeptics into whole-hearted believers, eh?

A medium in what religion? In Hinduism and Chinese folk religion, mediums become possessed by the spirits of the gods and speak on their behalf. They are sort of like prophets.

A Medium would be more acceptable than a Small, but a Large beats ALL.

Extra Large, now that's too much.
