click start>control panel> add/ delete programs> select the msn messenger on the program list and click uninstall

Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs > Add/Remove Windows Components
Scroll down the list and uncheck the box next to Windows Messenger. Click Next.

start > control panel >add remove programs
from left choose add remove windows components
a new window will appear just find windows messenger uncheck it and click next.

Go to start > run > type in msconfig and hit enter. Then go to the start up tab and disable from there. Hope this helps and Happy New Year

go to the start menu and remove it from all programs, or go to network places and click on install & uninstall programs, get rid of it from there
