Yes, Thatcherite Blair wants something to get himself kicked out, as a favour to her.

There's a bunch of countries that do not require work permits for "Rogarians" - Ok they include places like Poland, but also Cyprus, Sweden and Finland, so many might head there. Also, as there are already 250,000 Romanians each in Spain and Italy, where the languages are similar to Romanian, it's a fair bet that many will go there - the weather's better too!

Of course there will be plenty that come here to work - probably the same number as Brits buying cheap Black Sea apartments.

The real problem will come soon when Germany, France, Holland and the rest open their labour markets up properly to the Easterners. We'll lose most of our Poles, and we'll miss them!

I don't know about swamped but apparently one of the main reasons they are coming here is that English people are buying houses in Bulgaria and Romania, pushing up the prices. They in turn have to come to the Uk to make enough money to buy a house. It's like a catch 22 situation.

Now they recovered they have a good living I was in Bucharest in the summer I was amazed, everybody can afford anything, It was unbelievable I wanted to stay there To emigrate there.:)...The chicks are so fine. Damn
So you see EU only gave them green light after it made sure the work market is not going to loose there balance... So lucen up people Romanians are not something to be afraid of....they are definitely no religious fanatics...I was never to Bulgary but I belive they are preaty much the same......

I'd much rather have romanians and bulgarians than more mexicans. Most romanians and bulgarians speak english and have respect for our culture and society.

its all very well the government saying they plan to control the numbers but in practice this will prove virtually impossible as has been shown in the past.

Don't worry - only the illegals will come.
The honest, hardworking and English speaking ones will go to Finland, Cyprus, Denmark, Sweden, etc. - to the places where they can work legally, pay taxes, etc.
