i noticed it like 2 days ago and i had spent the night at a hotel a few days ago. the lump is pretty hard and it doesn't hurt when i touch it. its about the size of a dime. what do u think it could be.

so i noticed this lump on my neck about the size of a dime on the right side of my neck. its about 3 inchs from my sholders. and its towards the backish part of my neck. it doesn't hurt when i touch it, but my neck is sore.

could be a cyst on a lymph node. or some kind of infection in the lymph node.

The exact location is missing here.. is it in the front or the back of the neck?.. If in the front, would suggest an enlarged lymph node and indicate an infection above that level. If in the back of the neck would indicate either a spastic muscle or the spinus process of one of the vertebrae being prominent. Either way, you need to get it checked out to determine what the actual problem is.

It may be a swollen gland--esp if it's under the skin. If it is more of a topical bump if may be an ingrown hair or bug bite that is irritated

Sounds like a lymph gland. I'd get it checked out.

It could be a lymph node - if you have a slight infection or a cold etc., our lymph nodes are affected.

Could be a hypertrophied lymph node or tertiary syphilis...

My uncle had the same exact thing and it turned out to be lymphnoma cancer.
