What helps get rid of cold sores really fast? I have this cold sore on my lip on the inside of my mouth. I get them quite often. Usually I just leave it alone and it goes away on its own, but I really need something to put on it to get rid of it. Please help me. I very much appreciate your help. My question is what could I put on it that would help it go away very fast?
Also, what causes cold sores to develop?

Depending on where you are talking about will determine whether or not you have a cold sore or a canker sore which are two different things. A cold sore, or fever blister is caused by the Herpes Simplex Virus which can lay dormant in your Trigeminal nerve and cause breakouts in times of stress, exposure to sunlight, trauma to the lip area etc. It usually starts out with a tingling feeling, followed by a single or cluster of blisters which then break, which leaves a sore that takes about ten to fourteen days to heal. There are antiviral medications that can shorten the duration of a cold sore. There is only one over the counter anti viral cold sore treatment which is Abreva. The other types have to be prescribed by your doctor or dentist. Some of the other ointments which are over the counter do not shorten the duration of the cold sore they just help it dry out, Abreva on the other hand helps shorten the duration. Also at the first sign of a tingle you can try to place a small piece of ice where you are feeling the tingle for about ten minutes and this will sometimes keep the area from breaking out. Not always, but it does work sometimes. Now to the canker sore. These appear on the inside of your mouth esp, on the inside of the lips, under the tongue, and the inside of your cheeks. They start out as a small bump which breaks open and becomes a shallow ulcer. They can be very painful esp. when you eat anything acidic, salty, or spicy. They too can be seen in people with increased amounts of stress. The vote is out on what causes canker sores, but there seem to be several ideas floating around. There is not really any tried and true method that I know of to get rid of canker sores faster. I do know that warm salt water rinses, and bland food can help make them feel better. As well as taking an OTC pain reliever such as tylenol or advil. If you have cold sores then be very careful they are highly contagious (herpes simplex virus) you should not share any towels, washcloths, toothbrushes, lipstick......don't kiss anyone or let anyone drink after you. Always wash your hands after applying medicine and be careful to never touch your eyes if you have touched the sore. You can even get herpes in your eyes which can lead to blindness. Canker sores don't appear to be contagious. Just be careful until you know for sure which one you have.

Herpes virus is what causes cold sores. Someone may be infected with them from sharing drinks with others, used forks, shared chapstick, and by smooching a person that has it. The swollen red bumps happen to be fairly troublesome blisters that may turn up in close proximity to the mouth area, or possibly even the inside of the mouth or nostril, somewhere else on your face, and anywhere else on your body.
They could appear because of elevated stress and anxiety, the common cold, fever, cold temperature, particular foods, or even too much sunshine. The region could begin to tingle, itch, or burn, then the blister will probably appear. The blister can dry and make a yellow-colored crusting. Cold sores may last from 7 to fourteen days. A person can attempt to hide cold sores by using cosmetics, but that ordinarily would make the cold sore a whole lot worse.
To do away with them, one may go about using a cold sore special lotion, make use of chapstick with sunscreen, use peppermint oil, get echinacea, vitamins C and vitamin E, as well as totally avoiding touching it. By just taking on some lifestyle changes, it is possible to reduce cold sores as well as keep cold sores from happening again.

I got identified with herpes virus (type 2) about six years back, when I was still in college and had a dumb one-night stand. I understand lots of girls will say this, but I swear I had certainly not done that sort of thing before. I just made a massive mistake that one time and all of a sudden I felt like I was going to have to live with the consequences for the rest of my life. The worst part was feeling I could never date men again. After all, who wants to go out with a girl who has sores round her private parts? But since a friend shared this movie https://tr.im/4wVUR everything got better.
Not only was I able to eradicate all remnants of the herpes virus from my system in less than 21 days, but I was also able to begin dating again. I even met the guy of my dreams and I'm so lucky to write that just a week ago, in front of everyone in a packed restaurant, he got down on one knee and proposed to me! This system provided the chance to be happy and experience true love. Now I want to help you too by sharing this with the World.
