I had this great spiritual experience, but only while I was having this great trip....
hey, the effects of salvation lasted a few weeks but I started coming to my senses,
Does that count as being "saved"?

This is actually a serious question...I really did have a profound religious experience on acid....Acid and peyote has been used by man for centuries to facilitate spiritual experiences...like the Native Americans for example...
don't be so quick to judge...don't knock it till you've tried it;

A few of you idiots would benefit from a trip or two.

Hey if this question is a mockery, you really should do something better with your time.

However, if it's genuine, I suggest you try and find out more about your interest in Christianity when you're not under the influence. Try and give drugs up; they can only do harm.

If your heart is in the right place, that's what God sees, so ultimately it's your sober decision to follow God in everything you do in your life. "Salvation" and all similar words that get thrown around are truly a state of your personal realationship with God, not a fleeting "experience." It's a day-to-day decision of doing what's right over what's easy. It's sometimes failing, yet truly repenting (in other words, "saying you're sorry" but also taking intentioned steps towards change). It's about living according to the Bible (God's word), and guess what: that DOES begin with a heartfelt commitment to Him, admitting that you are a sinner and that Jesus died to save you....because He did. It's really that simple. No need for pop culture to complicate things.
Good luck and God bless!

The Bible says if you believe Jesus is the son of God, believe He came, died and rose again and accept Him as your Lord and Savior you will live with Him for eternity in Heaven. Only you know what you really believe and how you really feel. Salvation doesn't wear off. Salvation isn't emotional either. We are either believers or we are not. My advice is to have a little chat with the Lord. If you want to make Him your Lord then say so. You will be changed forever. Will you make mistakes? DAILY. You will not be perfect but you will have everlasting peace. You will have guidance and most importantly a relationship with your Heavenly Father which He desperately desires. God Bless and grow in the Lord by reading His Word, the Bible. It has everything you need to know. Romans is a good place to start.

What exactly were you saved from????

The Jews of the First Century wanted saved from Rome!!! You don't need saved from them considering that empire fell nearly two thousand years ago!

To say saved from sin is rather comical since the original sin was KNOWLEDGE OF GOOD AND EVIL! However there was no law by which one could establish what was or was not a sin for over one thousand five hundred years! (That is assuming the bible crap is accurate at all)

In short you can not be saved by someone else since this would negate personal responcibility! The effect you see in your life are the direct result of the causes you set in motion! These causes are your actions! IT IS ALL ON YOU!

Salvation appears to have influenced you to the point of finding your senses, unfortunately it only lasted a few weeks and unfortunately NO that does not count as being"saved".As for getting into heaven, you need more than a spiritual experience to go there.

no....it does not. According to Christian religion, in order for you to be saved, you have to truly accept Jesus Christ as your saviour and BELIEVE, not just trip out on drugs and hallucinate. The experience you had were not your genuine feelings, they were a by-product of a dangerous drug. You actually have less of a chance of going to heaven then you did before.....by doing drugs, it could be interpreted as worshipping a false idol, which is breaking one of the Ten Commandments. If you are really interested in going to heaven when you die, I suggest you start by giving up the drug use...it doesn't do any good for you in the long run anyways.

From my perspective, you're asking the wrong question.

In my view, God is the source of all that is good. So as long as you seek to grow in compassion, wisdom, understanding, etc. you're following God in the most meaningful sense -- and will enter into Heaven after death.

But the more profound and important question is: what does it mean to your life now if there is a God?

well if you believe that Jesus died for your sins, God Exists and as long as you follow the ten commandments you are saved, but then again your probably still on acid, which was only good for Jim Morrsion becuase he made songs while on acid so if you were saved you would follow the rules of man and stop!

No. It is not a "spiritual experience" that leads to salvation but repentance from sin and faith in the shed blood of Jesus Christ.

Blessings.
