Just cut ties now, don't delay the inevitable. The military has a 50 percent divorce rate, don't be a statistic. I was in the army for 4 years, I have seen some pretty shady things go on.

Well bootcamp is 8 weeks and then usually comes home before reprting to his duty station. Depends where he will be stationed and if a ship when it deploys as to how long he will be home. Usually after 6 months of active duty he can request leave. There are many naval bases around the US so it could be possible to either come home on weekends or you could go there. Hope this helps.

Officially sailors are out on a cruise for 3-6 months, then at home for 3-6 months.

However, this is wartime, and sometimes ships have to be out for longer periods, depending on whats going on.

Yeah you can join the navy together but honestly you won''t be near each other. Your suppose to concentrate in boot camp and training so chances of being stationed together isn't something that you should take advantage of

when i was in the minimum you could inlist for is four years.when he goes to basic and a.i.t. he will be gone for several months.if he gets ship duty he could be gone to sea for months at a time.but he will eventually get a three day pass and vacation once a year.unless you are married you wont see him much especially if he goes where the fighting is at,then he will be stuck on the ship for the duration of his stay.if you marry him you can live on the base and when hes not at war or on ship duty it will be like any other job and he will be home with you at night.good luck to you both.

If he is stationed on a ship then he could be away for around 6 months. Now that it is wartime, he could be away for 13 months.
