Yes, straighteners are bad for your hair when used a lot, at very hot temperatures and without a spray which stops hair from becoming broken (split ends).

Yes, im sorry to say it but the truth is straighting your hair is bad for you :-/ but it' true that any styling tool that makes hair look great has to be a good thing and straightening irons make almost any hair type appear smooth and ultra-shiny. But beware: extra heat means you should apply extra care to your day-to-day maintenance. Use a deep conditioning treatment once a week - or even more often if your hair is naturally dry. Make sure you only use good quality shampoos, conditioners and styling products, and have your hair cut before the ends start to split. These preventative measures will make the difference between a healthy or lifeless hairstyle. Also, when dealing with your hair don't just buy the cheapest iron you find. Take time to fin one that suits the purpose to which you are using it, if you are straightin short hair or long hair you iron should vary. If you are still lost ask for stylist what would be best for you. Also asking about restoring products is not a bad idea eigher. Hope it helped! Good luck!

All heat styles are bad-- blow drying, curling, straightening-- but Pantene has a line that helps restore healthiness to hair that needs to have the heat styles to look good. Just use a restoring shampoo, and be nice to your hair, and then you can bring on the heat!

A little bit, but your hair will be fine especially if you use spray before you straighten your hair to protect it

It's not bad as long as you follow the directions. Don't put the iron on the highest heat, you'll burn your hair and it'll get lifeless and dry...

Yes, don't do it every day. If you do it once in a while that is a little better. Any thing that applies that much heat is bad. Try blowdrying it straight.

it is, but you can reduce the damage by getting a ceramic straightener (plated not just a coating) and by using some sort of product before straighting your hair.

Not if you do it every once in a while. Straightening hair isn't good for your hair, but every once in a while is okay.
