I was told that my blood type was not compatable with my brother.
Is this possible if we had the same parents?

Yes you can very easily have different blood types than your brother even if you have the same parents. Your blood type is determined by both your parents and there is more than one way their sex linked chromosome connected to blood type can combine, meaning that there are about four possible different pairings of these chromosomes for any one set of parents, depending on your parents' blood types. The genes that control your blood type are found on both sex linked chromosomes so your parents have two possible chromosomes in terms of blood type that they can contribute to their children. The combination resulting in your blood type is different than the combination resulting in your brother's blood type because there are four different possible chromosome combinations, which can result in several different blood types for the children depending on what blood types your parents had to begin with. Simply put: there is NOT only one way your parents' genes can combine in terms of blood type, so siblings often have different blood types.

Yes. Blood has a dominant and a recessive part. It is possible that one sibling inherits the dominant genes, while another the recessive from both parents, giving two siblings two different blood types. For example, I have type O blood while everyone else in my family has A. I inhereted both recessive genes from my parents.

Yes...when two blood types mix there is usually more than one possibility for the child (unless both parents are O).

If you mix:
A + A = A or O
A + B = A, AB, B, or O
A + AB = A, AB, or B
A + O = A or O
B + AB = A, AB, or B
B + B = B or O
B + O = B or O
AB + AB = A, AB, or B
AB + O = A or B
O + O = O
