There are no proofs. The difference is that the anthology of books known as the Bible has been respected by generations upon generations of believers. One generation taught the next to revere the writings, and that generation taught the next. In other words, many people have really, really, really, really, really believed that it was inspired. That's it. No proof involved.
(Some people also really, really believe that once an American flag touches the ground it must immediately be burned and no attempt to educate them will dispel that belief.)

Because they were told that the Bible was written/inspired by God and they people that heard it believed the person that was telling them the information.
Why do people believe the world is round?
Why do people believe that the Universe is expanding?
Why do people believe that America sent a man to the moon?

The Bible teaches that Scripture is inspired by God.The books of the Old Testament were accepted by Jesus as Scripture and referred to as Scripture by him and by his early followers. The original disciples accepted some writings as inspired by God and sent them out to the various churches. Others were clearly rejected as heretical and contrary to the teachings of accepted Scripture.
Here are the standards that were used to decide if writings in the first century after Christ were Scripture: 1) Did it claim to be inspired by God? 2) Did it have significant spiritual content? 3) Was it written or backed by an Apostle--an original follower of Jesus? 4) Was it accepted by the early church as Scripture--by those who were alive when Jesus was alive?
Is your question inspired by God? Maybe. Does it fit in with and not contradict Scripture? Does your life bear witness to a life lived for Jesus Christ? These are the questions I would ask, but I would always accept what the Bible teaches over what you or anyone else might pop up and say is "inspired."
God Bless.

The bible was not written by "god" but by man from others (some of them yahoos) who are small minded and need some simple explanation of morals and other things about life and use a religion figure tomake up a manual for life...Hope that helps..

I think because there is a strong, innate human need to feel that there is more to life than the mundane. Every civilization since recorded history has had Gods who selectively save people from their own stupidity and evil.
Is the Bible true? Doubtful. Is it a popular idea? Undoubtedly.

God inspired His writers by the Holy Spirit to
pen His words to us, called the Holy Bible. It's sorta
like when you buy a new product, it has written
words by the manufacturer so you'll know how to use
it correctly. God is our manufacturer and He has tried
to help us know how to live and love by giving us His
Words from the Manufacturer (the Holy Bible). I don't
recall your name as being one of the disciples whom
Jesus knew and trusted.

There is no proof. I can say that Im a prophet tommorrow and will have the same amount of evidence for it as Jesus, Muhammad or Jim Jones did.

So you truly believe your bony legs look cute???
A lot of people here think you will look better by not exposing your boyish looking self.
I bet you were inspired by God to show off your disgusting ridiculous hairless chest; and who would believe you?
