Depends if you get sick easily. If the person with the flu is not part of my family I stay away a week (if the person is telling the truth about no longer having the flu) from the time the person says they are done with the flu.
My immune system has been compromised and I get VERY sick from others. My child is disabled and he needs his mother.
If you do not get sick much and are rather healthy just be careful being around the person. No kissing them or any other bodily fluid exchange or being in the way of sneezing you should be fine. Take some anti flu meds and or get the flu shot. Be careful of the flu shot though these can make some people very sick.

I feel the flu is one of those things people get and send there children to school anyways, or go to work themselves with it. Some have to go to work even though they have it, quite a shame!

until they stop vomiting. If they have a fever wait at least 48 hours after the fever is gone before you come into contact with them. Many flu's are most contagious just shortly before you get sick so you may have already been exposed.

Unless their entire apartment is scrubbed down with some kind of disinfectant you could still be suseptible for a week after they stop throwing up. Don't be cruel though, slip them some gingerale and crackers under the door.

It depends on how long the person is sick. In my case, 4 or 5 days.
