It's my 18th birthday and my dad wants to buy me a car. So like he wants me to get a Volkswagen Jetta. So I was wondering if Volkswagen Jetta's are good cars. And also do you have any reccomended small cars for someone who just got their drivers liscense?

The Jetta is a great car!

If you want something smaller go with a Rabbit.

The New Wolfsburg Edition is a great value...you get a lot of extras like a moonroof and alloy rims along with leatherette and heated seats at a great price!

I think a Jetta would make a PRETTY NICE first car!! I'm pleased with my Volkswagon Beetle. It seems to be a dependable and safe brand. I would give 2 thumbs up for the Jetta!

Jeeps look nice, but think of how much you'll have to spend on gas for it. I used to want a Jeep but when it came time to actually think about what car I really wanted to get I realized how much money I'd spend on gas. I would barely have money to do anything else. I'd suggest a newer Honda, Hyundai Tiburon or a 2004 Toyota Celica with a body kit.

My friend's daughter wanted a Jetta too. We asked a another friend who is a mechanic and he said Jettas came into his shop all the time with problems. He recommended against a Jetta

They're ok cars. A good starter car in my opinion would be a honda. They're good dependable cars, maintenance is not too bad on them, they're pretty cheap to fix if you happen to get into a fender bender also.

I think your dad is a smart man, very good reliable cars and cute with a nice lady behind the wheel.Oh yeah and they are safe cars too!But don't tell him you picked it because of this, just tell him you picked it because he suggested it.After all if he is nice enough to get it for you it's the least you could do.DRIVE ON BABY,DRIVE ON!

na, on the jetta bro they are for fags...go with an acura rsx type-s you'll be very satisfied...oh wait since you just got your license the type-s would be way tooo fast for you...go with the acura rsx base model with the automatic tranny with the tiptronic :)

http://www.acura.com/index.aspx?initPath=RSX

the page shows the Type-S model with 201-hp thats too much for you the base model only has about 160-hp which is much better for you and your dad will be more happy too. oh yeah and insurance will be a lot cheaper with the RSX base model.

volkswagens have really high safety ratings, and are pretty good when it comes to gas mileage. plus, they're REALLY good looking. : b i drive a ford focus and it's really easy to drive and a good beginner car, too. my mom drives a toyota matrix, and i learned how to drive in that car. hope this helps!
