If people flossed more often will all these problems (toothaches, cavities, abscesses) be less common?

I floss daily. just want to know also if you people floss too :)

Cavities around the gumline might be prevented better if people did floss. However, decay on the other surfaces of the teeth are not caused by a lack of flossing. Abscessed teeth are teeth which become infected at the apex of the root...usually due to decay under an exisiting filling or any decay which moves into the pulp and therefore causing the infection. Flossing will mainly help prevent gingivitis and help existing gingivities from turning into stages of periodontal disease. Brushing, flossing and routine cleanings and exams by dentists all go hand in hand to help prevent all diseases of the mouth and tissues.

The answer to this one is simple -- Yes. Brushing and flossing are both essential. Flossing gets to places between the teeth that brushing can't reach. Also, rinsing with an antibacterial mouthwash helps kill bacteria that cause dental problems.

Not flossing is one of the number 1 reasons that people need treatment. Studies have shown that flossing cuts your risk of caries (cavities) by almost a whopping 76%!!!!! (I found that in one of my dental books.)

I don't think dimples have ever been very common but my little girl has the 2 perfect lil dimples when she smiles it makes you melt, my other 2 do not have dimples at all. No idea where she gets them.
