Beelzebub is the prince of demons according to the bible.

"Some of them said, "By the power of Beelzebub, the prince of demons, he drives out demons." - Luke 11:15

In Christian writings, sometimes it is the name of a demon or sometimes it is used interchangeably with Satan.

However the name literally means "the Lord of the things that Flies" or "the Lord of the Flies" It is a deity that is worshipped by the Philistines.

Hope this helps
