Why do people call the Roman Catholic Church Cult?
We are Christians and follow the Bible, believe in the same God and Jesus as everyone else does.
We do not worship the devil
So explain to me why we are a cult?

Oh, I know. The arguments for that idea are just silly.

The roots of disagreement with Catholicism go back quite a long way, historically. The Catholic Church has been accused of "worshipping" Mary (as some feel that only God is worthy of prayer, not Mary or the other saints). There have also been disagreements over whether faith alone saves (or, as in the Catholic version, whether both faith and good acts are required for salvation).

Frankly, I'm a bit surprised whenever I find people who say that kind of thing these days. Anyway, blessings to you.

That's an interesting assessment and I personnally have never heard that before, although it may have something to do with the infalibility of the pope and he being the earthly representative of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Which I do no buy and is one of the reasons I am no longer a practicing Catholic. Yet I do miss the ceremony of the "Church". Another could be that RCs confess to a priest as opposed to talking directly to the Father, Son or Holy Ghost for that matter. Diefying Mary is hard to take by some Prots as well, but without her where would we Christians be. Although if I were you I wouldn't worry about it. Our Savior said "I am the way and the truth and the light, no one comes to the Father but by me." Remember and believe that as well as the "Creed" and don't worry about what others may say. Peace be with you.

You do not follow the Bible. Show me in the Bible where it says to pray to and worship Mary. Show me where in the Bible it says to pray to saints. Show me in the Bible any passage(s) where people went to any of the apostles and confessed their sins. Show me any place in the Bible where any of the Apostles where deemed "GOD ON EARTH" like the Pope is. Show me any verse in the Bible that supports the idea of Purgatory. Show me any passage in the Bible that says to pray on rosary beads. All through out the Bible it repeatedly says that salvation is obtained by believing that Jesus Christ is your personal Savior. But the Catholic church teaches that we need human intervention in the form of a Priest to get our sins forgiven. The Bible says that the only intercessor between us and God is Jesus. We can talk right to Jesus and confess our sins and he will forgive them. You don't need to confess your sins to a Priest....it is not in the Bible. The Catholic church teaches that salvation is by works.....by being good and obeying the ten commandments. But, the Bible says that it is NOT BY WORKS but believing on Jesus that we are saved from the fires of Hell. The Catholic church follows a human being...the Pope instead of following the Bible. SOUNDS LIKE A CULT TO ME.

Some people feel that any group of people who study/worship anything is a cult. Those who feel that organized belief systems are cults, are also people who have no sense of spiritual belief on average. Taking comments like those personal is a waste of time. Share/send some of that Love you claim to have for your fellow man, to those who sit in judgment like that. Then move on. Getting caught up in a reaction to someone Else's judgment of you, shows you how judgmental you can be. So, just let it go and move on. Like I said, practice some of that unconditional love for your fellow man like your belief system claims to teach its followers.

Well, it is a trademark of cults to spew hate, bigotry and raceism...

I can only suggest you do a study from their OWN teachings that explain what they do and why they do it and compare it to the Bible. It should be crystal clear to you afterwards.
God Bless.

Do you invite Jesus Christ to come into your heart, and be your Lord and Savior? Are you born again?
