Get a softer, less drying material to cover your hair, like silk or satin. A lot of durags are made of that material, and aren't too bulky, to they can fit under any hat you'd wear. Perhaps a nice silks scarf. Just try to avoid cotton, linen, and nylon. Also, you may want to use a deep conditioner and extra moisturizer in the winter time. Good luck1

You need to try a silk scarf wrapped around your hair to protect it and then you can put your stocking cap over it. Wool caps, knit hats and stocking caps all damage hair.

you should get a hair net or a nylon leg thing, and put it on first, to hold your hair down and in place then put the stocking cap on after.

Wear a silk scarf and then a hat over that. Silk will not break off your hair.

I'm not big on hats, no. Sometimes on a rare occasion i will wear a baseball hat depending, and sometimes in the winter an appropriate hat ... but other than that ... you'll never see me in a hat. xoxo ♥
