Relationships normally don't last that long.
I want your opinion on what you think it takes to make a relationship work.
And no answeres like it's the woman's fault or the man's fault, cause it takes both to make the relationship work.

communication, respect, and last, but MOST important is trust and honesty! You can have NO relationship without trust or honesty, they go hand in hand. You have to be comfortable enough to talk about everything from personal medical problems (like maybe gas, yeast infections, prostate problems, etc..etc..) and still keep the romance alive, and the spark in the sex life.

This is a personal thing I do whenever me and my partner start to fight........I think to myself, will this fight matter, if tomorrow my partner dies? and you know what, NOTHING, but our familes and our furkids would matter. nothing financial, not school, not a car, not even a house. NOTHING is worth fighting over.

Short answer: Set your mind on finding someone willing to make a relationship work. Usually these people are "clingy" at first but when whipped back down into place can make for very loyal comrades if the chemistry is right. But there might be too many control dramas in this scenario.

Long answer: Cheery Hello's, heart to heart talks, listening without judgement, argue over a topic but take responsibility for your feelings. Anger is created in our own hearts not caused by others. Be clear about your boundaries - what you will and will not tolerate and trust the boundaries your partner has set...You also need be committed to giving 110%...because the trick is learning "to love" not learning to be loved or in demanding love in return (which is actually a craving to be someone else's possession). NEVER put up with someone who can not open up about their true feelings. Chances are you will never have a true bond.

I think all relationships need trust for them to work. When you trust the other person that is key. It doesn't work if one party is gonna be insecure and has to know where the other is 24/7 you need to trust that when you're apart they won't do anything to jeopardise the relationship. With trusting you also need honesty.

You also have to love the person...not everyone enters a relationship for the long haul some people enter relationships just to have a good time and to have someone there to sleep with when they want to.

You both need to be on the same road and want the same thing from the relationship for it to work. If one of you wants something that's totally different from the other you're gonna have a breakdown soon.

I think they are five factors:

1. Timing: Both of you need to have the same goals and be at the same point in your life to have success.

2. Trust: As long as your can trust and respect each other, your relationship has a chance. If trust is not there, your relationship is in trouble.

3. Same level of commitment: Both people need to put it the same amount of commitment, and I'm not talking 50/50 I'm talking 100/100.

4. Similar goals: Do you have the same financial goals, education goals, sexual goals? This goes a long way to helping or hurting your relationship.

5. Communication: I can't stress how important this is. If you don't understand your partner, it's very hard to make a relationship work.

Finally, remember that a relationship can't make up your happiness, only you can do that.

u have to ask yourself why u wanna be in a relationship in the 1st place. is it coz u bored or dnt like be lonely if it is then relationships wil never work. But if u like someone who has the qualities as a life long partner e.g. Habits, communications, trust etc then it will work and LOVE NOT SEX makes a relationship work.

OK. Well i think both the guy and the girl have to try to make it work ....and if one wants just sex and the other wants to have a real relationship then i think they need to work it out. Also if either is sneaking around and " hanging out wit " another person they need to decide what they want and who they want. And remember don't cheat!!!!! That also make a good relation ship.

I think it takes communication and honesty to make a relationship work. We need to talk to our "significant other" about our feelings or whatever is on our mind and we always need to be honest about it. If not, then problems will definitely occur.

It takes honest communication. Trust and respect for the other person. Being Best Friends helps so you can do all the above.

the key ingredients are trust, fun, and happiness. make it so that both of you guys enjoy to be together. don't talk about work when you guys are @ home. only if there's funny stories to tell. time together are special, find things to do together whether it's hobbies, activities, or things around the house. remember, he's your best friend. the little time you have together, just make it fun for both of you.
