While i appreciate those giving me information on the countries of Central America, I am mainly focused on learning of which continent it is considered to be part of. I need sources to prove it as well. Also, for people foreign to the US, do you consider Central America part of North/South America, or do you consider it it's own continent?
My parents, who are from Argentina, consider Central America to be a continent in itself, separated from North and South America, so i am really confused haha

I live in central america.

Originally America was just one entire continent from North Canada to the south ending at Chile and Argentina near the south pole...

In betwen Mexico and Colombia there are about 10 small sized countries in which theres Panama, where I live and its considered the middle point of America...

Now days ppl and books consider America as 2 different continents... North America from Canada to Panama and South America from Colombia to Chile/Argentina

so basically you could say Central America is Part of North America... but this kinda creates confusion

====================EDIT====================

In addition to what I alredy told you America is either considered part of North America or Part of America as just 1 entire continent

I live in central america and never heard or read anyone that considered central america to be part of south america or even less to consider central america as a different continent.

Central America is part of the American continent.

It is a subcontinent itself, just like North America and South America.

But the Anglo world divided America in two continents, so that they can call US as America.

As most inhabitants in America are Spanish-speaking or Portuguese-speaking we have the right to choose how to call our continent, and we call it: America.

Central America is the central geographic REGION of the Americas. It is variably defined either as being a region of the Americas in its own right or as the southern portion of the CONTINENT North America.
